Safe Work Month 2008

From mid October to November each year SafeWork SA promotes Safe Work Month. This is an initiative aimed at encouraging organisations to raise the profile of safety in their workplace.

Over the month the Division of Education, Arts & Social Sciences OHSW Team have been on the look out for those of our staff who are putting safety first. We are pleased to announce that this year's winners are Gavin Spackman and Peter Ottaway from The Louis Laybourne Smith School of Architecture and Design.

Gavin and Peter have put in enormous time and effort into installing guarding on various equipment located in the Architecture and Design Workshop. This results in the workshop area being compliant with new Plant Guarding Legislation and provides a safe workplace for staff and students alike.
